The DESTINATIONS database stores data about attractions and places of interest around the country. This will be used to search for suitable destinations for the trips.

Open the database and make sure that you understand what each field is for. Use this data items list and regions list to help you.

Trip lists

You must produce lists of possible trip destinations. These will help the organisers plan the trips.

You must use the DESTINATIONS database to produce these lists:

  • a day trip to explore aspects of your country's heritage
  • a fun day out
  • a local half-day trip to visit a place of interest

Use the database to search for possible destinations for each trip. Think carefully about which fields you can use to refine your searches.

Save evidence of your search criteria in your Activity1 folder.

Prepare three trip lists for the organisers. Use your search results to help you and don't forget to:

  • include sensible titles and column headings
  • leave out unnecessary fields
  • include contact details
  • make the information clear and easy to read

Ask your test buddy and your teacher for feedback on your printed lists. Make changes if you agree with the feedback.

Save the trip lists in your Activity1 folder.

Answer the trip lists questions in your Activity 1 review.
